What benefits does my vision insurance
provide? |
|

|
Vision insurance benefits vary from a
simple discount on the eye exam and materials to a fixed amount that
the insurance company will allow. Although we are familiar with
most insurance plans, each plan can differ as to the benefits.
For your benefits, you will need to contact your insurance company.
The phone number or web address should be located on your insurance
card. It's very important that you provide our staff with the
correct insurance information so that you get your maximum benefit.
You must present your insurance card at the time
of the examination. |

many different sources. It is important to stay with the contact
lens Dr. hamilton determines is best for you. A different contact
may not provide the optimal vision or fit for your eyes. You may
order contacts from our office and feel assured that you are getting
the prescribed lens you should have. We have no membership fees,
taxes, or shipping charges on our contacts. Also, if you have
trouble with torn disposable lenses, we will replace them at no

What is the difference between daily
wear and flexible wear? |
 |
Daily wear lenses are worn during the
day and must be removed at bedtime. Flexible wear lenses are thinner
with a higher water content and can be worn continuously, even
overnight, for up to seven days. Our doctor evaluates each patient's
ability to wear extended wear lenses. |

What is the difference between
disposable and conventional lenses ? |
 |
Disposable lenses are designed for a
wearing schedule of 1-2 days, 1-2 weeks, or 1-2 months depending on
the type of lens, and then thrown away. This type of lens offers
convenience and optimal eye health. The conventional lens is
designed for a longer wearing schedule. These lenses are not
thrown away and require more maintenance. |

What is a progressive bifocal? |
 |
Bifocal and trifocal glasses have been
around since the days of Benjamin Franklin! A bifocal lens limits your
vision to near and distance vision. A trifocal gives you an
intermediate viewing area as well. The progressive (Varilux)
lens provides a lens with a natural vision change from distance to
near without any lines. It works well for computer operators or
anyone doing a lot of near vision and intermediate viewing. |

What can I do to
relieve my eyes from computer eyestrain? |
 |
First, make sure you are at a comfortable
workstation. Ideally, you should be looking slightly down at a
10°-15° angle. Good lighting is a must for comfortable viewing.
We recommend the Varilux Progressive lens for comfortable
distance and near viewing. A popular treatment has been the
Crizal anti-glare lens. This lens cuts down the glare from
computer screens and overhead lighting. This also improves
vision for nighttime driving, and eliminates the glare from oncoming
headlights. Finally, use of lubrication eye drops can
dramatically improve eye comfort and performance. |
